King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency
Creation of the Award
The Royal Decree establishing the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency was issued on 4/9/2002 with the aim of improving and developing the performance of ministries and government institutions in serving Jordanian citizens and investors, by spreading awareness of the concepts of outstanding performance, quality and transparency, highlighting the distinguished efforts of public sector institutions and presenting their achievements in developing their systems and services, so that it is the highest award for excellence in the public sector at the national level. The award aims to instill a culture of excellence in the public sector, which is based on three pillars: focus on service recipients, focus on results and transparency.
Award Objectives
The award seeks to ensure that the government sector performs the duties and tasks entrusted to it to the fullest and with high levels of quality, efficiency and professionalism, and also aims to provide a guiding reference and standard foundations to measure the progress and development in the performance of ministries and government institutions, and to promote the exchange of experiences between public sector institutions and share success stories among them about successful management practices.
