About the Ministry
The Ministry of Justice was established on 4th November, 1921under the name of (Mashawar al-Adliya). On the 3rd of January, 1929 the name was changed to the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Justice was established to act as the executive arm of the Jordanian Judicial System. Ever since 1929, it had continued to play its role in achieving the Kingdom’s basic mission of establishing justice, equality and protecting the rights and freedom of all citizens

MoJ’s Goal
Enhancing the independence of the judiciary and its crucial role in a manner that ensures the achievement of Justice and protecting rights and freedoms through providing capable human recourses and full logistics support that encompasses the structural and technical infrastructure. Equipping the Ministry, Courts, and Affiliated Departments with all technical, financial, administrative, and logistical needs. Upgrading the services provided to their recipients aligned with the principals of governance and transparency. Furthermore, actively contributing to the provision of an appropriate legislative environment, policy-making, and future foresight; due to upholding and fostering equality and equal opportunities, facilitating access to justice, protecting public funds, and bolstering community security, and the reinforcement of cooperation and coordination with relevant stakeholders

National Objective
To establish the rule of Law and Citizenship, to achieve justice and equality, to promote the principles of transparency, anti-corruption and equal opportunity for all, and to protect the rights, freedom and security of all citizens.
The Main Objectives of the Strategic Plan

To contribute to the development of the National Integrity System (NIS) through financial, administrative and judicial independence of courts.

To contribute in the development of the legislation system of law across its three main types of courts, namely Civil courts, military courts and religious courts.

Develop and apply a quality management system in line with the nature of the work of the Ministry and the courts and in a manner consistent with the requirements of the standard ISO (9001:2000).
Build institutional capacity and raising the efficiency of employees at all levels.
Expand the use of modern technologies to raise the level of service provision and access to a paperless work environment.
Involve all employees, at all levels, in developing and implementing the quality management system, for the purpose of deepening and documenting the spirit of cooperation between them, encouraging them to make continuous progress, and motivating them to achieve the stated objectives of the Ministry, while ensuring continuous commitment to quality.
Provide all necessary resources and effective training to implement the system.
Develop appropriate performance indicators to improve quality.

Implement the legislation governing the Ministry’s work.
